Today I received an email from my client that he is starting a multi-author WordPress blog. To make the login process easier for the contributors and members, he want to place a Login Form in the sidebar. He is asking what plugin he should be using?
By default, to login to any WordPress blog, you need to go to wp-login.php
page directly and enter your details. Otherwise you can find the link in the sidebar under WordPress Meta links. However, best way to do this, is to place a Login Form in the sidebar.
I use Sidebar Login plugin to add Login Form widget. Sidebar-Login has both a widget and a template tag to allow you to have a login form in the sidebar of your wordpress powered blog. It lets users login, and then redirects them back to the page they logged in from rather than the backend, it also shows error messages.
You can configure the plugin in Admin > Appearance > Sidebar Login
after installing it. You can also use this plugin in your local language depending on the WordPress Language settings.
